Harry S. Truman is the 33rd president of the United States. Born in Lamar, Missouri on May 8, 1884, he was the biggest of the three children. Truman does not have a middle name. His parents obviously gave him the first "S" to soothe two relatives. At the age of six, his family moved to an independent city in Missouri where he attended a Sunday school. So he met a five - year - old Elizabeth Wallace, and later he fell in love. Truman started school at the age of eight and imitated thick glasses to correct vision disorders.
