Harrison Ainsworth Rookwood

In the early nineteenth century, interest in criminals and general robberies increased in Europe. Many London magazines, such as Bentley's Miscellany, Fraser Magazine and The Athenaeum, have special reports on highway actors and their many adventure stories. The growing interest in this issue has urged many authors to write articles on popular criminals and various uses of robbery. Some prominent examples of such novels are Edward Bulwer's Paul Clifford (1830) and Eugene Aram (1832), Charles Dickens' Oliver Twist (1838-39) and Barnaby Rudge (1841), William Harrison Ainsworth Rookwood 1834) and Jackson

Bentley had some success in the beginning of his personal business. For example, he purchased the copyright of The Last Days of Pompeii (1834) from Edward Bulwer-Lytton sold for over 20 years. He also announced Rookwood of William Harrison Ainsworth in 1834. This is a bestseller and has been released in two other editions. Bentley publishes works by prominent authors such as Leigh Hunt, William Hazlitt, Maria Edgeworth, Frances Trollope and is a British publisher of Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale. Bentley's company has "quality reputation". He often publishes the same work in various forms. For example, from January 1839 to February 1840, Ainsworth's Jack Shepard was serialized in Bentley's Mins Learney and was published as a three-tier book in October 1839 and was reprinted as a series in 1840 .

Dickens has made rapid progress both professionally and socially. He has developed friendship with William Harrison Ainsworth, author of the highway novel "Rookwood" (1834) who got a bachelor's degree in Harrow Road.
