Hammurabi’s Code: Fair or Cruel?

About 1750 BC, King Hanpibi wrote 282 laws to rule the people of Babylon. Both historians and scholars believe that these ancient laws are the first law to cover all aspects of society. But historians and scholars do not agree on whether Hammurabi's law is justified or cruel.

King Hanpibi wrote an introduction to his legal list. In the introduction, he said that the law is fair. His intention was "just dominate the land, destroy the actors of evil and evil, and the strong man should not hurt the weak."
