Gummo: A Review

Yes, Gummo is one of my most important movies. I like the character's very lively, realistic and concrete way; I remember Gummo's details are very clear and almost unnatural. This does not happen to me too much - I am going to see a larger movie now, and it seems to be a single party, I may remember one or two things, but that is roughly ambiguous . However, I like the sense of the city. In your own small town there is physics and law. I think that a small town is really isolated and hatching, but they are in America. We all mistakenly believe that big cities are America. Driving out of the big city for 1 or 2 hours will find people who seem to be trapped for decades - very attractive to me.

I recently reworked Gummo as a masochic act and to see if the interpretation of my complex movie can find something from this movie. Naturally, I do not like it much yet. But I can explain it in a more meaningful way: it depicts landscape and tone, and provides thoughtful, conscious scene and character studies. It is like an entertainment rather than a movie.
