With the continuation of the Guardal Canal European war, the United States is still on the side and provides support only to allies. The biggest threat of those days was thought of as Hitler and his German tank. But on December 7, 1941, this idea will change fundamentally. On this day Pearl Harbor Island suddenly was attacked by the Japanese Navy and Air Force. The Japanese succeeded in paralysis of the US Pacific Fleet. If Pacific Airlines were present, the Japanese could even change the course of the war.
Guadalcanal is part of the Solomon Islands, which are small islands 500 miles northeast of Australia. In the beginning of the war, Japan dominated the majority of Solomon people, including Guadalcanal. Guadalcanal Air Force Base is important to strengthen maritime traffic between Australia and the United States. On August 7, the allies landed on the coast of the island, soon occupied the unfinished Japanese airfield and renamed Henderson Field. Japanese reinforcements arrived, the parties fought against the malign fight that dominates the island. In the air, land and sea are fighting for several months, and both countries have numerous victims. With the increase in the number of allies, Japan began to counterattack to recover these islands from the Allies. By November 15, the allies decisively defeated Japan, but no major casualties were found.
The battle of Guadalcanal is also known as the battle of Guadalcanal, but in reality it is the series of battles on the largest land and sea of the Solomon Islands. On 7 August 1942, the allies (mainly composed of the US military) started attacks against Guadalcanal to end the supply and communication threats between the United States and Australia. The Allies successfully occupied the island, but it took more than six months to break the resistance of Japan. Japan, who lost about 30,000 men, over 600 aircraft and 24 warships, decided to evacuate about 10,000 people who survived until February 9, 1943. The allies were also severely hit - over 600 aircraft were destroyed, 25 ships were sunk and about 7,500 people died. But since then the route between the US and Australia is safe.
