The foundation of the Greek drama is a religious and political performance by an authoritative playwright. These characters are always played by men wearing masks and costumes, and the performance is always outdoor. Greek theaters are having comedies and tragedies, and comedy heroes are ironic and touching the situation. When a tragedy occurs, heroes often respond with emotions such as pride, anger, desire, jealousy, sadness. This article will focus on the tragic aspect of the Greek drama. Aristotle said the tragedy is "not imitation of human beings, but imitation of behavior and life" (Butcher 1961).
