Great Exhibition Building in Dublin

Dublin 1853 Hall This picture is a beautiful 25 x 35 inch color lithograph showing the main hall details of the Dublin Grand Exhibition Building. The hall is 425 feet wide, 100 feet wide, 105 feet tall. There are big organs behind. Flag of the wall is from various countries. The building is best described in the "Dublin Exhibition Catalog". The feature of 300 feet Merrion square, the center or the height of the center in front of the exhibition is a semicircular projection that forms the eastern end of the central hall.

A special building, Crystal Palace or "Dalsharima" was built for the exhibition. Joseph Paxton and his colleagues completed it in only nine months. This huge glass house is 1,851 feet (about 564 meters) long and 454 feet (about 138 meters) wide, made of cast iron frame parts and glass almost completely made up of Birmingham and Smesswick. Inside there are trees and statues; not only for decoration, but also to show human victory over nature. The building was later relocated, but eventually it was destroyed on fire on November 30, 1936.
