In the short story, Asbury is a failed writer accusing of his failure for everyone except him himself. He has an intellectual advantage over all the people around him. He is also sick and believes that he will die of this magical illness. When his mother and sister had been sitting all day, Asbury said that for the first time, Asbury would have to give God's grace when he told him he needed to do something constructive about his life instead of marking himself as a failing writer It was offered. His mother's idea at bed was to allow him to work with his grandmother at a dairy shop, but he felt he was too weak for at least physical labor He eventually refused after all. His mother's original intention was not to express her faith, but she hoped to help him feel better, and that he would do something worthwhile in his life I wanted to do it. Asbury's superiority to her mother does not allow him to see her point of view.
