Tallahassee, Florida - Today, Governor Rickscott and First Lady Ann Scott announce the 2018 Hispanic Heritage Month Competition for Students and Educators and invite Florida K - 12 students to papers and arts. Parents, students, teachers and principals are also invited to recommend full-time, excellent educators for Hispanic heritage monthly awards for educational excellence.

The theme of this year's essay and art competition is "celebrate Hispanic Innovation Leader". Ask students to share what Hispanic Florida will have on the history and culture of our country. K - 3 Art Competition: Hispanic Traditional Monthly Art Competition is open to all K - 3 Grade Florida students and chose two winners.
4 - 12 grade essay contest: Hispanic traditional month's essay contest is open to all students in Florida from 4th grade to 12th grade. Three winners will be selected: 1 elementary school student (4th grade to 5th grade), 1 junior high school student (6th graders) - 8) and 1 high school student (9th - 12th grade). The winner will be awarded the Florida University Program Scholarship for four years from the Florida Prepaid College Foundation.
An annual Spanish Cultural Heritage Monthly Excellence Education Award by Governor Scott is held for all Hispanic full-time educators in Florida primary school, junior high school and high school. Three winners will be chosen: one elementary school (K-5) teacher, one junior high school (6th to 8th graders) and one high school (9th to 12th graders)
