Gothic Architecture

Architecture is always an integral part of society and its culture. It not only defines the community space it participates, it also forms the location of the community in history. In addition, historians around the world have discovered that buildings play an important role during the period they study the community. Architecture helps historians to break the everyday life of translation and the value they have. Historians can interpret by observing the repeated structural and decorative features of a particular building during a given period.

Gothic architecture and Renaissance architecture are comprehensive expressions of their own era culture. Gothic architecture started in France in the 12th century and continued for the 4th century until the 16th century. After that, Renaissance architecture superseded Italian Florentine gothic architecture from the 15th century to the 17th century. Two different era backgrounds, different cultural standards of social culture, religious beliefs, and origins are the main reasons for the formation of these two polar architectural styles, Gothic style and Renaissance. They represent their time and country, and they become specific languages. In this article we will compare the two most beautiful works of each era, Amiens Cathedral and Florence Cathedral, trying to compare these two architectural styles through the historical evolution of European architecture.

Gothic architecture is spreading in the Middle Ages or the Middle Ages. It is inspired by Roman style architecture. The best examples of Gothic architecture are the Gothic Cathedral, in particular La Sainte-Chapelle Cathedral in France, Salisbury Cathedral in the UK. Gothic revival architecture is a style with two forms. The first medieval Gothic building explained these changes through the architectural style built during this period. On the other hand, the second Gothic revival style building decided to regain the style to the relevant social change. Medieval Gothic architecture was born from Romanesque architecture and challenged its original ideas as brand new. It is not a planned structure, it is an idea to form the architectural style surrounding it. The restoration of the Gothic style is not a new architectural style but a concept used and brought by the Gothic style of architecture. In the meantime, architecture itself is a tool for social transformation, not idea design created by social transformation brought about by medieval Gothic architecture.
