Good and Evil in Bless Me, Ultima

Ultima of Rodolfo Anaya 's novel "Bless Me, Ultima" uses different settings to "develop a sense of good and evil of Antonio", "bless my good and evil". An example is Rosie 's local brothel. For Antonio, Rosie seduced his brothers and was the reason for their sins. In one of Antonio 's dreams, three characters "waved carefully to them" (p. 65) Antonio entered "House of Sinful Women" (p. 156). Antonio saw his brother come in. He told Andrew that the last of the three entered, but he did not come in.

In this novel, you can see prototypes of good and evil commonly used like myths. Goodness is the winner in almost every document including war and conflict between good and evil. Bless me, Ultima, Tenorio is a villain who achieves his hatred full goal, but he can not avoid his destiny, death and lost fate. He passed away by a bullet. Ultima is also dead, but her saga is always there, touching the hearts of those who love her most.

Blessing me, Ultima of Rudolph Anaya talked about the story of a young Mexican American boy, Antonio Mares' s adult trying to solve many of his fate, life and death, many problems about good and evil I will talk. Ultima living with Antonio became his guard and his teacher. Through Ultima 's wisdom Antonio learned that the world has different powers from his beliefs of Catholic faith. Ultima explained to Antonio, "The tragic result of life can be overcome by the magic power of the human heart" (Anaya 237). Ultima showed to Antonio how to experience the magic of life with his mind instead of eyes. For the first time, he thought that this river was not a terrible thing but a source of life. "I have been afraid of the frightening existence of the river all the time, although this is the soul of the river, I understand that my spirit is shared with all spirits through her" (15)

Rudolfo A. Anaya's book "Blessing My Ultima" is about a little boy named Antonio who experienced unpleasant torture through this book. On this journey he got help from Clandela named Ultima who taught Tony many life courses. Anaya uses animals to symbolize good and evil. On behalf of Ultima, he uses owls as good characters, but Coyote represents evil depicted by Tenorio. Kim Min-jeong is a symbol of Tony's uncertainty about religion and morality.
