Godawari - National Botanical Gardens

Godavari Botanical Garden is also known as Royal Botanical Garden. It is located at the foot of Nepal's majestic Furuchiki Mountains in the southeastern corner of the Kathmandu Valley. Founded in 1962, this garden currently has about 500 species of plants, 115 species of orchids, 66 species of ferns and 77 species of cactus. It also has about 200 trees and shrubs, some of which are rare and in danger of extinction. On 72 hectares of land there are about 256 birds and over 200 butterflies.
