GMS Contract

The new GMS Contract PCT needs to consider how local pharmacists can participate in order for general pharmacists to achieve the goal of the GMS quality framework and serve as an alternative provider of enhanced GMS services. In some cases, the proposed core service as part of a new pharmacy contract actually guarantees that the GP practice meets certain quality standards. The National Pharmaceutical Association (NPA) Resource Kit "New GMS Contract Quality Indicator Quick Reference Guide" provides key quality indicators and examples of what community pharmacies can offer to support GP practice and published evidence bases I will explain.
