Glen Este and Amelia High School will merge with Bach Buxton Road and Clike Pike 's Union Township.
The new school will be built free of charge for taxpayers under the tax incentive measures between the trustee of the Union Township and the school district.
Representatives and the Board of Trustees of the Union Township stated that this unique agreement will raise educational standards.
As part of the deal, Union Township plans to purchase the land of Glen Este for one dollar. The trustee said to redevelop commercial and residential applications
"This creates the opportunity to build a new school facility and invests in the town for the success of the school and it will be a part of the union township board, the West Claremont Regional School District, the Union Township Community Investment Corporation, and the private- Will be established Business, "Coalition town administrator Ken Geis said in a press release for WLWT news
"It is very exciting to be able to unite the community, school has always been a competitor of Amelia and Glen Este, I think this is a very positive attitude towards the community. It is going well, Glenn Este's grandmother Brenda Morford said.
When Amelia High School merges with Glen Este, Angela Mohan's new daughter will be a senior, but she is more concerned about what happens when the school merges.
"I think that this is not necessarily a good idea, I think many children will come to places," Mohan said. "What is the number of classes needed to accommodate all these children? Is the classroom too large? They are talking about all the other courses, but that's fine, but the teacher is working I do not want to see it lose, because they said that 30 children in the class are not too bad. "
Students walking in Amelia Hall will welcome the merger, saying that the school is declining.
Amelia's graduate, Jasmine Terry said, "I think this is a very good idea, I think it is a great opportunity for students, new technologies, new courses to learn new disciplines and sports." Said. "It seems like a baby for a while, it's like a newborn baby by Amelia and Glenn Este, it's really cool."
Construction of a new high school is expected to start from this autumn. Scheduled for 2017-2018 academic year
Glen Este and Amelia Middle School are also consolidated at West Clermont Junior High School (WCMS), which Amelia High School used to be in the building where it once stood. Last year, one of the eighth graders died in a traffic accident, the area was shocked and hurt my heart. Students of WCMS and WCHS are wearing the student's favorite color green clothes, and even if the students do not know him, he is celebrated the next Monday. The sad consultant of Clermont County Crisis Team and Children's Focus will stay at campus junior high school for Patrick's classmates, friends, and those who need to tell someone about grief and loss. Then the community gathered to celebrate the life of mountain students. The Carmel Christian church is still supporting each other while West Clermont School is lost
One student, WCHS 2nd graders, agree that seems to be a break between students and faculty. For example, the students stated that the school had no early announcement. This is the way Amelia and Glen Este High School remind students of upcoming events, solve contradictions and problems within the school, and simply use it every morning to start the morning. Students said that because there was no presentation in the morning, "Most people do not even know the principal." The school did not use the announcement of the transceiver, but depended on the television for slideshows about clubs, events, and other schools. Activity information
In 2015, the Board of Education got a unique opportunity and a merger plan was proposed. According to official plan, Dr. Keith Kline of the district director should say as follows. "The latest high school is very important for West Clemon students and the funds for this project have come from the right time. For more than a decade, West Coal's local school staff has been working on 2 I knew that it was necessary to renew or exchange two high schools, Amelia and Glen Este - but there is no funds to achieve it. "
