IUSD's GATE (Gifts and Gifted Education) program is designed to meet the academic, social and emotional needs of senior learners. Studies show that talented children have outstanding talent and achievements in one or more fields while having unique and diverse learning characteristics. They tend to have advanced creativity, strong memory, and subtle or mature sense of humor. Some (not all) talented students like the learning process and want a broad range of knowledge and understanding. IUSD's GATE program is dedicated to providing a comprehensive educational model to meet the diverse needs of each talented student. The choice of IUSD program covers students from 4th grade to 8th grade and is based on current research and best practices in talented education.
