Ghosts of Mississippi (1996)

I saw some movies on this paid channel (fun of modern TV!). Overall, this movie is very good, it does not seem to have given a long permission history. My only serious attitude to this movie is the same as movies about Mississippi / Burning and other civil rights struggles. Why do not you make this movie from a widow's gonzo or a younger brother of Evers? The power structure of Hollywood (white male) believes that if the WASP is not used during action, the audience will not lead to a story. This is not to minimize the role of Bobby DeLaughter in bringing Byron de la Beckwith; it simply means that De laughs late in the overall history of the incident.

So, as expected, we find that DeLaughter compromised (perhaps in real life) the threat of family conflict and death. Everything is very realistic but we have lost the fact that in the thirty years the Evers family has experienced all of these in the years that the Evers family has been keeping alive.

Here are some good performances, in particular James Woods must play real life, spiritual gnome and malicious racist. Baldwin is as good as DeLaughter, but even for Delta's accent, it is as flat as normal. Whoopi Goldberg is excellent as modern Myrlie Evers Williams but is a foolish widow in the flashback sequence. She is obviously over-age, I wonder if they are too cheap to pay to other actresses, or Goldberg's ego is so wonderful that she does not allow it. Actors acting as Evers brothers are very good with such short screen time, you have to wonder why they do not want to do more with him.

This is not a bad movie, it gives us the opportunity to see the whole contents of Medgar Evers. I think this movie is about Medorga and Merry, not to mention my daughter. As commented by another commentator, it is more like a TV production movie than the drama version.
