Ghostly Residents: The Tower of London

The Tower of London is one of the most famous historic buildings in the world. This rugged, gray, powerful tower built by conquistador William the conqueror in 1078 is the most ghastly building in the UK. Perhaps the most famous ghost resident of the Tower of London is the spirit of Anne Bolin, Sir Walter Raleigh, Prince Tazzon and others. Established about 1000 years ago, the Tower of London has expanded for centuries. The first foundation built by the conqueror William is constantly progressing.

The Tower of London, the Royal Palace's Mansion, the Tower of London is a historic castle on the north bank of the River Thames in central London. Located in the Tahamre district of London, it is distant from the east end of the square mile of London City and is known as Tower Hill. It was established at the end of 1066 as part of the Norman conquest of the UK. The White Tower named after the whole castle was built by William Conquest King in 1078 and is a bad symbol of London's oppression by a new dominating elite. From 1100 (Ranulf Flambard) to 1952 (Kray twins), the castle was used as a prison, but this was not the main purpose. It is a magnificent palace with a long history, once a residence of the royal family. Overall, the tower is a complex of two concentric defensive walls and a moat.

The Tower of London was no longer used as a royal palace, but it is still the key to defense. Duke of Wellington served as a tower police officer in the mid-nineteenth century and took many non-military functions, especially the zoo, and built an impressive new residence for his garrison. It is now a crown jewel. By the beginning of the 20th century, the role of the Tower of London as a fortress and prison seems to be a thing of the past. However, the arrival of two world wars has changed everything. One of the most notorious prisoners was Hitler's right arm Rudolf Hess who was taken to London after accidentally landed in Scotland in May 1941 and was probably a mission of peace. He was trapped in the Queen 's house of the tower, where he spent comfortably for four days, then moved to a family of safe houses.
