Ghost Story of the Motel Murders

Motel Murder's prophecy dreams of members of my gym team talked to me this special ghost story. We are friends all year round, and she told me this story at an informal occasion in my dormitory Friday night. She was 20 years old and grew up in a very conservative Catholic family in New Jersey. Later, when I tried to find more people to hear similar stories, I met another friend who heard the same plot change.

As a mythologist who studied and taught ghost stories for many years at the University of Southern California, I discovered that ghosting is generally the cause of "familiarity". These may include unresolved murder, lack of proper funeral, mandatory suicide, preventable tragedy, and other moral failure. From this point of view, ghosts often seek justice outside the grave. They can make such requests from individuals or society as a whole. For example, in the United States, traces of African-American slaves and murdered Native Americans are reported. Elizabeth Tucker, a scholar at Binghamton State University in New York, details many of these reports on college campus, which were often related to the dirty aspects of campus.
