Ghost-Free High Dynamic Range Imaging Using Histogram Separation and Edge Preserving Denoising

In this paper, we presented a ghostless, high dynamic range imaging algorithm to obtain high dynamic range (HDR) images without ghosting. Existing HDR methods based on multi-image fusion function only under the condition that multiple different exposure LDR images are acquired without moving the camera and the object. In order to overcome this unrealistic condition, the proposed algorithm creates three LDR images from a single input image. For this purpose, a histogram separation method for generating three LDR images by decompressing each separated histogram is proposed in the algorithm.

The use of images used to reduce or eliminate noise is eliminated using classical techniques without significantly affecting the edges and high frequency portions of the image. There are two kinds of these technologies, spatial domain technology and frequency domain technology, which are explained in order. Another spatial adaptive filter used to denoise the image is a leaf filter, which is a local statistic using a mask. The Reie filter mask has coefficients that are a function of local noise.
