Georgia school brings back paddling to punish students -- when parents give consent

The Georgian school is said to have created a corporal punishment policy to discipline students in a "disciplinary manner" and to allow parents to agree that their children will scratch the paddle with their paddles.

WDRW-TV said that the Georgia State Innovation and Classics School in Hephizibah recently sent a consent form to the student's house asking parents to choose to use "tools" in the school's "discipline tool box" I reported.

According to Jody Boulineau, the school stated that "The discipline is very seriously considered," and "Corporal punishment is the normal state of the school, there is no problem" in the history.

Parents of the kindergarten to the ninth-grader charter school received "consent boat form" detailing the corporal punishment that occurred when the student committed the third crime.

"Students will be taken to a closed office where students put their hands on their knees and furniture and hit their buttocks with a paddle," the report says.

"There is no obligation - this is not mandatory," Boulineau says. "Parents can either agree to use it as a disciplinary measure or refuse to agree."

The school supervisor said that the school received over 100 consent forms and about one third of parents agreed that parents would classify their children as discipline.

She said he heard a series of answers, "Oh, my God, I can not believe you do this".

According to the report, if parents do not agree that their children are rowed, they will be deferred for 5 days.
