George Washington is also an exceptional one, one of the most important people in history, due to his strong leadership, efforts to liberty and responsibility to the United States. In December 1777, General George Washington transferred the Great Army to the Valley Forge winter. The revolutionary army won an important victory in Saratoga in September and October, but the Washington forces suffered defeat in Brandywon, Pauli and Germantown in Pennsylvania. Philadelphia, the rebel capital, went to the hands of Britain. When the military entered the valley of Forge on 19th December they not only suffered from cold, starvation and fatigue but morale was also low due to the devastating Philadelphia fight.

February 5, 1778 - Prussian Army Friedrich von Steuben attended the Continental Congress held in York, Pennsylvania.
