Gene and Finny in A Separate Piece

In the novel "Independent Peace", the author John Knows made a unique relationship between the two main characters, Gene Forrester and Phineas (aka Finny). Boys have a relationship between love and hatred. That is the root of the whole book problem. This novel is a kindergarten located in Devonshire, New Hampshire, where world war is creating a peaceful environment that does not erode boys. Boys may be protected by war, but they do not protect each other.

Jean broke the branches, Finney collapsed, the leg broke, and the silence of the summer ended. Finney who was once a great athlete will not participate in sports anymore. Jean's hostility towards Finney grew as he fell from the tree. In John Knowles' novel "Separated Peace", the hostility of genes and Finney is rising.
