Whether articles / websites are discussing language fixed stereotypes of gender. If so, what did you learn? Since the day I was born, the gender language has existed in every field of my life and has been ongoing since then. It is always around us, but most of us do not really pay too much attention or just look at it. I saw that it was a school and even a small child grew up. My mother works at home, my father is the winner of bread, he pays the bills and is working outside the house.
What is a gender sensitive language 'language sensitive to gender'? Why use it? Traditionally, English users and writers have tried to use male nouns and pronouns when their gender is unclear or unchanged, or when the group they refer to includes both sexual members I was taught. For example, the Declaration of Independence of the United States states that "... everyone is equal ...". Most of us are educated at elementary school and understand the terms "male" in both men and women. But in recent decades, as women increasingly participate in the public domain of American living, writers have rethinked their ways of expressing gender identity and relationships.
The first time I encountered gender issues was by language. 2 year old children can usually understand and use basic gender languages ("male", "female", "girl", "boys"). Because they begin to determine their position in the structure. This new understanding of gender may affect children's playing toys. Young girls and boys still traditionally choose to play with sex related toys. This means that the early boys and girls began to be divided into different groups.
Gender language Most people use gender language, but they are unconscious. The language of parenting tends to be sex, and it is usually assumed that parents of elementary school are female. A program focused on "mom" ignores all men - straight men, bisexuals, homosexuals, and transsexuals. Today, trans men are being opened to become increasingly parents, traditional words of midwifery and childbirth, that is pregnant women, women-centered care etc are not suitable. Some people began to say "pregnant people". Languages that have been customarily changed for a long time may be challenging, but it is not as hard as people think. Practice away from the term 'mother' and use few terms of gender such as 'parents' or 'pregnancy'.
