Gauss Guns

The theory behind the Gaussian gun is that you can use energy storage to acquire energy and convert it to kinetic energy. Basically, you place a black object (projectile) at one end of a hollow electromagnet. When power is applied to the coil in the solenoid, a magnetic field is generated which pulls the projectile toward the center of the coil. When the projectile reaches the center and continues, the magnetic attractive force decreases and eventually reverses.
