Overview of Gatsby Jay Gatsby is one of the most interesting and memorable men in the novel, but he is not a dynamic and changing character in the novel. In fact, Jay Gatsby has not changed since he was a boy. James Gutz was born as a poor farmer in the state of North Dakota and decided that he wanted more lives than North Dakota since he was very young. He left the house to find excitement and wealth. One day he wandered the beach and saw a yacht anchored on the coast.
When we finally met the legendary Jay Gatsby, he and most readers expected to read the "Great Gatsby" summary: he is cool, conservative and keeps the distance. It seems that the masses who used Gatsby to play in his house paid him by not interfering with his affair. If you look closely it turned out that he is a wonderful listener and a fun person. At the party, Nick also met Jordan Baker, a beautiful young lady who met a woman when she first met his cousin. Jordan found Gatsby's secret falling in love with Daisy. They once knew each other. When Daisy was 18 years old, they met and Jay was just a soldier without money. When Jay went to war, Daisy and Tom got married.
We met Jay Gatsby at his famous big party. One of them was Daisy. The narrator Nick made friends in Jordan, the next day they went out for lunch, and Jordan talked to Nick about Daisy and Gatsby's old love. Jordan said that Gatsby had just bought a West Egg mansion near Daisy. When Jordan and Nick talked about Gatsby, one of the things they said was quoting "This is a strange coincidence." But it is not a coincidence. Gatsby purchased the house and took Daisy to the other side of the bay. "(P.78) Normally people do not buy a house but move to approach someone. Does anyone have enough money to buy a luxury house just to take them to the other side of the lake?
