Prior to coming to Westchester, Hansen served as a teacher and served as editor and copy editor of Asbury Park Press, Neptune, New Jersey. He worked at AP Communications, Philadelphia Daily News and Syracuse (New York) Herald Magazine. W. C. Harris is an associate professor in English at Shippensburg University and specializes in American literature (before 1900) and homosexuals and lesbian studies. His article on American literature appears in the history of American literature, Walt Whitman Quarterly and Arizona Quarterly.
