Fundamentals of Building Construction: The Concrete

Specifically, what is it? Concrete is a composite material widely used in the construction industry. Concrete is basically a mixture of cement, water, aggregate and mixture (sometimes). Cement is a good gray powder made of calcium oxide, silicon and aluminum. The aggregate used is usually gravel, gravel or sand. Mixtures are solid or liquid substances with specific properties of concrete. Cement reacts chemically with water and bonds aggregate through a process called hydration during curing or solidification of concrete.

In a sense, product creation is similar to building construction. Even considering the color of the walls, you need a blueprint before pouring concrete or before laying out the first brick. In the construction industry, this blueprint (aka plan) shows the relationship between rooms, spaces, traffic patterns, and other physical features of the structural layer. In the design environment, the wireframe functions as a design drawing, but the high fidelity screen is similar to the inside and outside design of the building.

There is a fundamental difference between the design of the building and the method used to make it. Advanced design designed to withstand earthquakes is effective only when proper construction methods are used in site selection, foundation, structural parts and joints. Earthquake-resistant design usually has ductility in the structure and its structural members (the ability to bend, shake, and deform without collapsing the building). Strong buildings may bend or bend when exposed to horizontal or vertical shear forces of earthquakes. Usually, fragile (relatively easy to break) concrete buildings can be made ductile by adding rebar. In buildings built with reinforced concrete, steel and concrete must be manufactured precisely to achieve the desired ductility.

In building construction, a lot of building materials were found to be special. One of the special building materials is reinforced concrete. Reinforced concrete is a special type incorporating strong steel or fiber when wet, forming very strong concrete that can withstand most dry materials. Most of the current buildings use reinforced concrete during construction, as the results of using rebar are quite suitable for buildings.
