Frog Extinctions as Indicators of Environmental Problems

There are many types of frog, small or large, smelly or toxic, and it is an excellent indicator of overall environmental quality. Until today, scientists are still looking for new kinds of frogs that have never been discovered all over the world. Recently, a small frog [its scientific name is called Eleutherodactylus Iberia, smaller than the American dime, was found under Cuba's old leaves in 1996 ("the world's smallest frog"). A transparent glass frog has been found in the upper South Gallican basin in the southeastern part of Ecuador.

Why was the frog extinct in the 21st century? People may think that frogs are gone in the area where many people live, but frogs living in primitive areas where no human lives may also become extinct. One of the latest clues to Washington's National Zoo several years ago came from Washington National Zoo. A few years ago, zookeepers discovered that the number of their blue poison dart frogs disappeared thanks to Bactrachochytrium dendrobatidis, an unknown fungus called Bd. Colbert learned that the same mysterious fungus Bd killed most of the gold frog of El Valle. Bd also spreads to Colombia, Australia and New Zealand, destroying populations of frogs

The number of frog populations has declined worldwide at an unprecedented rate, and nearly one third of amphibious species in the world are on the verge of extinction. Since 1980, 200 species have completely disappeared, but this is not normal. Amphibians are extinct naturally by about 1 kind in 500 years! The amphibian population faces a variety of environmental problems such as pollution, infectious diseases, loss of habitat, invasive species, climate change, and excessive harvesting of pets and food. As long as we do not act quickly, amphibians will continue to disappear, bringing irreversible results to the Earth's ecosystems and humans. Frogs eat mosquitoes, bring us medical advances, serve as food for birds, fish, monkeys and their cockroaches filter our drinking water. In addition, the frog sounds cool too. Children love them.
