Innovation and innovative thinking are necessary for the transformation of digital business. Design thinking is an obvious choice because many companies seek to transform into digital business and in some cases try to reinvent themselves. It was developed by IDEO and taught at the Stanford University design school and the Potsdam HPI design and idea laboratory founded by SAP co-founder Hasso Plattner. The term "lean entrepreneurial spirit" was developed for the IT industry software startup and was very popular in the book "Lean Entrepreneurship" published by Eric Ries in 2011. The "lean" principle was developed by Toyota in the early 1970s to optimize the production process and reduce waste in the process. A wasteful startup process insists that the most effective innovation is the innovation of the user's actual needs. In other words, the greatest waste is to create products and services that nobody needs.
Innovation change may be one of the latest forms of change. For this purpose, the company employs methods such as design thinking and lean entrepreneurial spirit. Since these two methods work at different stages of the product lifecycle, treat each method as a separate transformation. Today's companies face unprecedented pressure for transformation. Many leaders are struggling to make the right decision when supporting the initiative, not other initiatives. As time goes by, leaders should not become accomplices in "official political war", but understand that there are no silver bullets. Each conversion can only be used for limited purposes. Therefore, by tackling a defensive and gradual change, the company's survivability will increase.
