Free textbooks (aka open textbooks) written by knowledgeable scholars are relatively new phenomena. Below, please find a free math textbook meta list. This is part of the meta collection out of the 200 free textbooks we offer. Please also visit our online course, 1,300 free online courses of top universities.

One of the most common ways we learn mathematics today is in mathematics textbooks. However, as early as 300 years BC, a mathematician named Euclid just published the first mathematics textbook called "Elements". Euclid, known as the "father of geometry" arranged mathematical discovery of all the mathematicians who came to him, and showed mathematical discovery of his era for the first time. The crazy fact about Elements is that although it is a mathematical textbook, it does not contain any few numbers! This book introduces mathematical theory and does not use actual numerical measurement. The full text of the Euclid element is here.
There are many mathematical textbooks. If you want to study the decline of Western civilization in mathematics, then start to browse each 10 year book to see that the quality of mathematics writing and the quality of questions are significantly reduced. There is a page describing the factorization of polynomials whose coefficients are not "1". so? Well, they do not use algorithms like "decomposition" - it sounds like decomposition, it sounds like you know. They simply encourage students to use their intuitions about numbers and multiplications. This book was written in 1954. It is also a book of 9th graders. Please read the preface of the textbook from the 1950s to the present. This will give you a glimpse of mathematical decline. I have a textbook from the latter half of the 1960s to convey the beauty and symmetry of mathematics. Today 's textbook praises the practicality and efficiency of mathematics. I love joy. We only have to look at the parallel relationship between our food system and math education. Many school districts pay thousands of dollars as "common cores" in mathematics textbooks. In each textbook, I saw the word "common core" boldly appearing in bold. Unlike organic foods, there is no federal regulation or official third party review system to verify the integrity of the standards. As a result, companies often gain significant revenue through print resources that distort the interpretation of the Common Core National Mathematical Standards (CCSSM) and ultimately mislead teachers.
