Frederick Douglass Patterson

Frederick Douglas Patterson (born in Washington, DC on 10th October 1901, died on 26th April 1988 in New Rochelle, New York), Black leader famous for American educators, Tower Skii Teachers College and Industrial Dean of College (later Tuskegee College, now Tuskegee University of 1935 - 53, founder of the Union Black Academy Foundation (1944)

Patterson acquired a doctorate in veterinary medicine (1923) and a master's degree in science (1927) at Iowa State University and also studied at Cornell University (PhneD, 1932). He taught at Virginia State University in Petersburg and then joined as a veterinarian at Tuskegee Teachers College (1928) in Alabama, then served as dean of the Agricultural University, then became the third president of the university. During the year of leadership at Tuskegee, Patterson began a new course of nutrition, veterinary medicine and commercial aviation - the latter enables Tuskegee Airmen

At the time of the establishment of the United Black Academy Foundation, Patterson envisioned an organization for a well-established black private university to manage the course and award scholarships. In the year Patterson died, he funded 42 college colleges and helped 45,000 students. Patterson also serves as president of the Phelps Stokes Foundation (1957-70), a foundation that sponsors educational programs in African-Americans, Native Americans and Africa. In the mid-1970s, he designed a university fund fund program that relies on funds from private companies consistent with federal funds. He received the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1987.

Frederick Douglas Patterson, African-American educational leader, was born in Washington, DC on October 10, 1901. The youngest of the five children, Patterson was named after the abolitionist Frederick Douglas. Paterson's parents died of tuberculosis in their childhood and sent to live with their friends at home at the age of two. When Patterson was seven years old, her older sister Bessie became a legal guardian. As he grew up, Patterson learned at Sam Houston University and Prairie View University in Texas in primary school and high school class. After graduating from high school, Patterson received a doctorate in veterinary medicine from Iowa State University in 1927. He stayed in Iowa until 1927 and acquired a master's degree in science. Patterson acquired another doctorate from Cornell University in 1932.

Frederick Douglas Patterson was born on October 10, 1901 at Mamie Lucille and William Ross Patterson in Washington, DC. He was named after the great abolitionists and the residents of D. C. Frederick Douglas. When parents died of tuberculosis, Patterson became an orphan at the age of two. Then he moved out with his sister Bessie and his principal caregiver sacrificed to confirm that he had received a good education. She donated approximately 20% of the salary of 20 dollars per month to a private elementary school in Samuel Houston College (now Houston - Tirson College). In the coming years, he studied at the Agriculture Department of Prairie View · Normal and Industrial Institute in Texas (now Prairie View A & M University). After that, he studied at Iowa State University (now a university) veterinary university and graduated in 1923. Thelma Dale Perkins, born in 1915, is his niece.
