Franck Cammas (born in Aix-en-Provence on 22 December 1972) is a French sailor. Since I won the French Agricultural University Challenge in 1994, he lived in Brittany. Franck Cammas finally chose to sail after finishing mathematics for two years at "Piano Academy" with "Grandesécoles". In 1997, at the age of 24, he acquired the Figaro card, and one year later he took over his first trimaran named Groupama. He is late for the competition, but he is one of the world's talented and respected crew members of the Ocean Racing Multi-Hull Association.
After that, Cammas became the captain of the 60-foot (18 m) Trimaran Groupama 2 and won five ORMA championships. His last Trimaran, 103 feet (31 meters) Groupama 3 was designed to break ocean race records. Groupama 2 is the fastest yacht at Jacques Vabre Speed Race and Groupama 3 holds the record that it once broke Jules Verne Trophy for nearly two years.
In 2010, he became a tester with the witness of SLAM's technical sportswear company in Italian sailing technology sportswear company.
After winning the trophies of Route du Rhum and Jules Verne in 2010, Cammas changed from multihull to a single event and won the Open 70 Groupama at Volvo Ocean Race for 2011-12 [2].
Cammas is the father of two girls and is doing other sports such as skiing, plunking, cycling.
