Date rule: For dates, the year corresponds to the rest of the sentence using a pair of commas. For example, on December 12, 1890 an order was issued to arrest cattle. Address rule: Separate address elements or place names with a comma. However, there is no comma in front of the zip code. For example, John Lennon was born in Liverpool, England in 1940. Example: Please send postal code 61571, postcode 61571 to Greg Calvin, Washington State. Title rule: If there is a name after the title, separate that title with other titles with a comma. Example: Sandra Belinsky of MD was appointed as a director. Number rule: For numbers longer than 4 digits, use commas to separate the numbers into three groups from the right. For 4-digit numbers, the comma is optional. Example: 3,500 Ex: 100,000 Ex: 6,000,000

When an adverb phrase begins a sentence, it usually follows a comma, but especially if it is short, that is not necessarily the case. As a rule of thumb, if the phrase exceeds about 4 words, please use a comma. If you want to emphasize, you can also use a comma of short phrases or add a pause for literary effects. Some small ideas pop up in the middle of the sentence to express interruptions, emotions, intonation and emphasis. Parenthesis elements are clauses that add additional information to sentences but can be deleted without changing the meaning of the sentences. Both the interrupter and the parentheses element must be represented by a comma.
