Foster Children’s Development

Children 's career and family life affect the happiness of their cognition and emotions. Children learn from teaching, learn from others and observe others. Therefore, what they see about their behaviors and speech by their parents may be what they ultimately do in their own life. Children who have a long-term relationship with stable families are more likely to have better cognitive and social emotional development than homes or children living in an unstable home environment.

Lev Vygotsky is a Russian developer who believes that adults of all societies "intentionally and systematically promote child's cognitive development" (Ormrod, 2011, p. 39). Vygotsky's socio-cultural theory focuses on what children can only do with the help of adults. Nature is the focus of this theory and highlights the cultural and social environmental experiences of children affecting cognitive growth. Vygotsky believes that adults develop social development of cognitive development in an intentional and systematic way by participating in challenging and meaningful activities.
