I gained the privilege of working with Foster for over 3 years. I participated in a committee consisting of Furiko and former Foster migration system. These incredibly insightful, well-versed young people are supporters of foster care and reform. I heard that their voices are often given a minimum value or importance when making important decisions about their lives and the frequency with which their opinions are completely diverted. They talked like foreign objects in the big wheel around them. Some people hide the fact that they can receive foster care only from their colleagues, because they treat them if they know they are "foster children".
A simpler definition of foster care is "a general term for care for children living outdoors" (Curtis, Dale and Kendall 1997). Historically, foster care is known as boarding. In other words, foster parents are almost always intimate relationships.
