Fort Laramie Treaty

After years of struggle with the Native American for the land, the United States is fed up with asking for battle and "peace." The first Laramie Treaty in 1851 acknowledged the Lakota region including North Dakota State and South Dakota State, Montana State belonging to the Sue Indian, Montana State, Nebraska State, and a part of Wyoming Province. This is a pretty large land, equivalent to 5% of the United States (Calloway, 2012). The US government is aware of the abundant natural resources of gold in this region and is trying to develop the Bozeman trail.

In 1851, Arapaho signed with the United States "Fort Treaty of Larmur". We acknowledge and guarantee the rights to some traditional land in Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, Wyoming. However, the United States was unable to fulfill the treaty, European and American intruders exceeded the country of India. There was repeated collision between settlers and tribal members. In 1867, the US government brought these tribes again to Parliament and realized peace under the Medicine Lodge Treaty. It promised Arapaho to book in Kansas, but they did not like that place. As they accepted Cheyenne's reservation in the Indian region, in today's Oklahoma two tribes were forced to evacuate near Fortino.

First of all, let's consider the Laramie Fort Treaty.
