Victims of neighboring countries such as China, Vietnam, Uzbekistan, Fiji, etc. will travel for various reasons. Thailand including departure from poverty "(TIPR, 2013, page 358). The country where people escape is known for their poor living conditions that contribute to their "push" factor.
The Philippines is a country of origin and transit related to forced labor and sexual exploitation. Thailand is one of the largest forced labor supply countries in Southeast Asia and the world. Most forced laborers are from neighboring Southeast Asian countries such as Myanmar, Malaysia, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia. Immigrants voluntarily migrate to Thailand where they may be forced to finally work or sell them to their sex industry. Laos is known as the country of origin of sex slave industry and forced labor industry men, women and children. Many Laotian immigrants moved to a country like Thailand or from a transit country to China. Laos immigrants are mainly flowing into the labor intensive labor department. 70% of immigrants from Laos are women, many of whom are trying to use housework. In Thailand, domestic workers do not receive labor protection, so there is the possibility of risking immigrant women in Laos.
The adverse health effects of child labor with a small burden on health can not be over-emphasized. Many forms of child labor send children to dangerous work for children and adults. Child sex workers in Thailand and Nepal are infected with infectious diseases, like their older fellows, fighting psychological trauma. However, in other occupations, children are more susceptible to illness and injuries than adults. A concrete example reveals the unique and terrible health burden of child labor.
Trafficking is a crime involving the exploitation of children and adults in forced or sex trading - a serious problem in Togo and its neighbors. Togo has various forms including compulsory child labor in the agricultural sector. In Lome, children are forced to work in family services and trafficking in the roadside, and they are used for commercial transactions. Traffickers are often recruiting victims from the northern countryside to develop in more southern cities. Children of Benin and Ghana are recruited for forced labor and sex trade and are brought to Togo. This comic book is part of the embassy's efforts to educate people in vulnerable communities to solve problems. In March of this year, we plan to start outreach events to distribute comics in these areas, information briefing sessions by local anti-trafficking NGO coordinators and representatives of Togo government's anti-trafficking activities.
