Folk Music

Folk music includes the genre evolved from the 20th century between traditional folk music and the Renaissance. Some folk music has something also called world music. It is in sharp contrast to business and classical style. This term began in the 19th century, folk music spreads beyond this. Since the middle of the 18th century, a new form of popular folk music has evolved from traditional folk music. Music of this form is sometimes called contemporary folk music or folk revival music to distinguish it from the earlier folk style. At other times there were smaller, similar resurrections elsewhere in the world, but the term folk music is not normally applied to new music made during the resurrection.

The term folk music in America covers many kinds of music, traditional music, traditional folk music, modern folk music, or root music. Many traditional songs have been passed down through generations for generations over generations, sometimes back to the origins of Britain, Europe or Africa. Musician Mike Seger said in famous words that American folk music once was defined as "all music suitable for cracking." Root music is a wide range of music including bluegrass, gospel, old music, kettle. Bands, Appalachian ballads, Blues, Cajun, and Native American music. This music is thought to be an American because it is an American native, or because it is being developed from a foreign origin that treats musicologists as a unique new thing.

Traditional American folk music began to adopt mainstream recording pop music as baby boomers grew at the same time and many of them were listening to Harry Smith's selection of American folk music. Folk music restoration music is a pop music of a story with a social conscience. Since then, the community-led music format (punk rock, hip hop music) has evolved from a combination of folk music and pop music. Now, in the 21st century, American folk music is strongly influenced by all these music movements.
