First Love by John Clare

John Claire 's first love is how different poets communicate the concept of love. John Claire 's first love was written in the 19th century. This is a poem about how the poet fell in love, but it turned out to be irrelevant. W. H. Auden wrote "Song" in the 20th century, but it is a poem about whether someone fell in love, but killed. As they are all about loving someone rather than having them, they are all very similar. But 'song' is different in that they fall in love, then lose it, then not 'first love', not love is not returning, not realization.

John Clea's "First Love" can be compared with Robert Browning's "My Last Duchess." Because they all build love on the outside rather than emotions. The poet John Claire did not talk about the person he loved but just commented that he was blind about his love, as he fell in love with her seeing her. He's not focusing on how she feels about her, but focusing on her appearance. Similarity on the third line shows that his lover is very attractive, and on the fourth line, the speaker clearly shows that this is what he captures his lover. . This shows that the love point of view is completely outward appearance. Likewise, Robert Browning also said he wants a beautiful wife. Her last Duchess were also beautiful as she died and he wanted another beautiful wife. He told this on lines 1 and 5,
