Please contact your state designated Firewise Liaison Office to find requirements for your state risk assessment. This component is an important part of the application process and helps to identify and guide your priorities and activities. Risk assessment will be the primary tool for Board / Committee to prioritize risk mitigation within your website boundaries. Evaluation needs to be renewed every 5 years

Form a board / committee composed of residents and other appropriate wildfire stakeholders. Consider inviting participation in local fire departments, state forestry agencies, elected officials, emergency managers, and property management companies (if applicable). We urge the residents to pay attention to maintain high-intensity fire that is more than 100 feet away from the house. It is important that they avoid contact with their structural fire. This includes a torch. The evaluation team encouraged the establishment of a "noncombustible zone" which would not allow burning in the house within 10 feet by removing the fuel there. It is a bad idea to strike a house during a forest fire. Remember, you can not exclude forest fires from your property, but you can reduce strength.
