Fiorello LaGuardia Fiorello LaGuardia was born on 11th December 1882 with New York immigrants of Italian and Jewish families. From 1945 to 1945 he served as Mayor of New York. He is considered one of the mayors who redefined the politics of New York City. Prior to serving as mayor, Fiorello had a long career in politics. After graduating from New York University law school in 1910, LaGuardia practiced and was appointed proxy attorney general. He is also a Republican in Congress.

Fiorello LaGuardia (1882 - 1947) was nationally recognized as a dynamic mayor of New York City during three terms (1934 - 1945).
