Father's Mission in Germany

As you know, I have studied my father's last mission in Germany. These are the stories of the days I learned, I would like to share. At 8:30 am on February 24, 1944, the 8th Air Force 445 BG held a briefing session to understand that the mission as the target of the day is the Messerschmitt plant located in Gotha, Germany. This is the 445th task # 28, which is happening deep inside the enemy's territory. The fifth mission this week is "Great Week". Johannes · Heinrich · Carl (Hans) · Pennshorn was born in the Salon on October 14, 1876 and is the sixth of eight children. My father Hans Jetzek was born in Germany in 1927, but he is a legacy of Czechoslovakia. As you can imagine, during World War II, he had a "good time" in Germany, which is the worst. His father is a cello player of the Northwest German Philharmonic Orchestra and his mother is a housewife. It is an ordinary family with only three children. When my father was 12 years old, Germany declared war. Of course, everything is changing now. When he was 16 years old, when the Germans were about to lose the war, his entire class (I assumed only a boy) turned into a specific unit, and they used to shoot down an airplane I was studying a big gun. He was sent to Berlin and then sent to Poland. He stayed at a British prison for a while, but to the best of my knowledge he was handled properly and was able to speak fluent English, so he was "hired" as an interpreter. His family is one of the fortunate families, but anyone living in war through youth must keep a mark.

My mother's family lived in Germany for centuries. Her father, Adolph, fought against Germany during the First World War, but lost his leg at home. He is a cow seller who earns enough money to comfortably support his wife Kathë and his children at a small town in Adelsheim, an hour away from Heidelberg. Even before Kristallnacht in November 1938, three older girls were sent to two aunts of Heilbronn, which was large enough to possess a Jewish school; Adelsheim School I did not open it. After the massacres my grandparents and others knew clearly that their children were not safe anywhere in Germany.
