N2 - With the rapid social change, the number of single parent families where women are dominant is increasing. In other words, the number of children growing without father is increasing. The absence of a father is a term whose definition is unclear and in most literature it does not distinguish between absence of a father, disagreement of a parent, or absence of a father for other reasons. This article provides a critical review of existing literature on father's absence, especially in connection with happiness and development of adolescence. The findings of the literature show the importance of the father in the life of the child, and it shows that the absence of the father affects children and adolescents. Literature review concludes that the absence of fathers and their influence on their children and their families is a field of further research aimed at developing a strategy to improve the influence of father's absence from children and adolescents I will.
