Family Application for Free and Reduced-Price School Meals

School will send school lunch application form at home at the beginning of each academic year. However, by submitting family applications directly to school, you can apply for school meals at any time throughout the grade. Your school will apply to you according to your request.

Children are automatically eligible for free school meals when receiving supplementary benefits from nutritional support programs. Please contact your school to decide if you need to fill out the application form

Without CEP, the school must gather applications and judge individual eligibility of many low-income students to dine at free or discounted prices based on family income. (In most states, the threshold for a 4-person family is $ 44,955 for a discounted-price meal and $ 31,590 for a free meal). This puts a considerable administrative burden on poor schools.
