Therefore, a good reflow profile must produce solder bumps with thin intermetallic layers. In this area, it shows how the temperature rapidly changes on the printed circuit board. The rate of increase is usually 1 to 3 times per second. Beyond this speed, components can be damaged by thermal shock. Only in this preheating zone, the solder paste starts to evaporate. Fit up must be consistent with the entire joint. Since the metal plate and most of the rounded corners and knee joints are rigidly fixed over its entire length, the gap or bevel must be precisely controlled over the joint.
