Introduction Friday, February 20, 2012, Saitama, Japan: Three members of the same family were found dead in a multi-family residence in Saitama, northern Tokyo. The victim was found lying on the bedding with a pet's cat body. The refrigerator was empty, it seems that the 1 dollar coin was the only money. The victim is a couple of 60 years old and a couple of his sons, considered to be in their 30s. The cause of death of the family is unknown, but officials believe they died of suicide or hunger.

Japan fights eating disorders of children and adolescents, and government data shows an increase in the number of extremely thin children. However, poverty rarely causes malnutrition. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the average life expectancy of Japanese children reaches 83 years, which is longer than any other country. Regarding food, there are several persistent advantages in Japan. Children are taught to eat what they serve. However, Japan also invested heavily to support this spirit. Most schools hire nutritionists who work especially with noisy or unhealthy children.

Japanese wealthy students have several advantages for poor students. According to a recent government survey, child poverty is increasing in Japan - about 20% of children live in poverty. I visited a kids door in Tokyo. Therefore we offer counseling and after school programs to children of low-income families. Yumiko Watanabe, founder of Kid's Door, said that poor Japanese students quit school because they were unable to pay for excursions and uniforms. According to OECD data, I asked her that the Japanese school showed that it is better to educate wealthy students and poor students equally, but their parents are working, so their help has diminished. These families are also unlikely to receive tutoring and other external assistance.
