Extending the Academic Year

There was much debate as to whether or not to extend the grade of high school students who extend the grade. Some people think that it will be well prepared for the university; and others believe that it will not make a difference if the grade is extended. The grade should not be delayed so far. There are many points to conclude the reason why the grade should not be extended, for example, the students are more nervous, the age and age of the students, the financial problems of the public schools.

A small number of schools and school districts change or extend the grade level nationwide. The Massachusetts 2020 Initiative provided resources to increase the number of days of education provided by dozens of schools from 180 to about 200. Other examples include lower grade schools that extend school hours to extend school days, and longer school days, weeks, and years for some charter schools. However, these initiatives are still rare and teaching time does not bring systematic changes to American students. Our work confirms that increasing teaching time can have a great positive impact on learning outcomes. Schools and school districts are encouraged to see the school's calendar as a tool to improve academic performance and should be encouraged from the point of view of words and policies.

In most studies on extension of the grade, emphasis is placed on improving the task time, which is the time actually spent by students during learning, and extending the grade.
