Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a major cause of death and disability in children and adolescents (Yeates, 2005). The US Centers for Disease Control (2010) reports that 7 million people each year suffer from TBI, 51% of which occur during brain development. Types of traumatic brain injury include concussion, diffuse brain injury, secondary impulse syndrome, subdural hematoma, and epidural hematoma. Furthermore, in each age group men showed a higher proportion of traumatic brain injury than females.
