I will explore the essence of American women's history and how women's living in North America will change over time. The main topics include the 17th century's economic, family, sexual, community and political influence on the civil war and the rise of women's movement. We will explore the historical nature of American women from the civil war to the present, focusing on the political, economic and social situations that have influenced the lives of American women in the past 100 years. Reading will focus on academic articles and books as well as autobiographical materials. This course will be held as a workshop containing introductory lectures and comments on weekly topics.
