While I work as a music minister, I will do my best when we help others and enjoy interacting with others. I serve people with diverse cultural backgrounds. Currently, I offer two specific cultures. In Sagrada Familia and St. Dennis Catholic Church in Versailles, Ohio, we serve the rural society controlled by Catholic farmers. I am also in the Latino community of La Parocia de San Gabriel in Indianapolis. I started working in Versailles at the age of 13 and continue to this day.
For this reason, I actually like the word "music minister." I am a servant (and a leader, "minister"). My special service area is music. What should the position of the music minister stand for? Full dependence, trembling, deep gratitude. The correct definition of worship lowers us and makes us pray. "If true, the high worship of Christ will occur in the minds of these people today, and pray, but I am the only one, you are the leader."
I grew up in a small town Baptist church. The first experience I sang publicly was a church choir under the guidance of my father's music minister. That was that I loved you, a poem written by young William Ralph Featherston in 1864, introduced to Jesus. These words were later used for music by Adoniram Gordon (founder of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary), so they became beloved hymns. This seems to be the only work published by Featherston. When I was a teenager, I saw my father's lead and sang this song over and over. There is some personal things in the word "My Jesus" - for me, it represents a relationship with the Savior. This is one of the reasons I really like this song; when I sing I will feel the same as paying attention to following Christ.
After reflection, my music department made a lot of mistakes and failed. When I first started, I was a music minister. Without enough experience, my ministry will not work out and there is no specific plan every Sunday. Since I am self-taught music minister it is not common to become a well-prepared music minister. From all the experience so far, I feel the importance of the plan as a music minister now. The first step is to plan. We all know that God will give us duties and plan our steps for us, but we must fulfill our role. We should not just sit there and wait for God to bring everything to the ministry.
